It’s Friday…Give Him Our Full Attention

Nothing God does is “barely enough.” When He delivers, He doesn’t just deliver; He conquers and crowns, exalts and grants honor. He doesn’t just save us by the skin of our teeth and tells us to hang on tight. He is extravagant with His blessings and rescues us in the highest possible way (Hebrews 7:25).

We sometimes don’t act as if we believe that. Somehow, we got the impression that God gives us only enough to barely get by. We forget how overgenerous He is toward us, how deep and fulfilling are the joy and peace and love He offers.  For some reason, we assume that the God who tells us to give generously is Himself is spiritual miser, withholding His graces from those who haven’t yet lived up to their end of the bargain. In other words, we forget the definition of grace, and when that happens our relationship with God falls into a rut.

“Seek The LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.”  (Isaiah 55:6)

If the God of extreme deliverance is offering us the blessings of His Kingdom, let’s not just walk into His presence, let’s run! Let’s pursue His nearness zealously. Let’s turn at every whisper of His voice and every nuance of His work, and Give Him Our Full Attention. Let’s not wait for His thunderous commands to move us, let’s embrace His gentle suggestions. Like a beggar who lives for a glimpse of the King, may our heart treasure anything He offers us.

We can tell a lot about the condition of our heart by how hard it beats when God speaks. Those who crave His generosity will seek Him diligently. Like a plant that has grown toward the sunlight, our soul will lean into His magnificence. His voice will be our life, we will cherish His friendship and consider when He comes through for us a privilege of the highest order.

Have a most blessed weekend. Make it better by worshiping The LORD with those who are intimately familiar with His voice and make it a priority to make room for Him at all times.

All For Jesus – Nothing More, Nothing Less, Nothing Else.

“He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, The King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see, to Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:15b-16)
