It’s Friday…He Has Already Met It

God is a God of covenant. He makes promises and will not violate them. If we think He might renege because circumstances change or because we don’t deserve His fulfillment, we’ve forgotten who He is. He has perfect foreknowledge and He has perfect character. He makes His promises in full view of the future, and His integrity never bends. No, when God promises something, it will be done.

“Because of My covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit.”  (Zechariah 9:11)

When God makes a covenant of blood, we know it cannot fail. We may not be as faithful as we want to be, but His faithfulness never wavers. If He has promised freedom for prisoners, we will be free. If He has promised to take us from waterless pits and place us in flourishing oases, we will be there. If He has promised to give us the desires of our heart, answer our prayers, or make a way through the wilderness into our promised land, it will happen. We can fully invest our heart in His promises because His promises are certainties. As children of God, we should be the most secure people on the planet.

So, what level of confidence do we live in? If we struggle with insecurity – and let’s face it, all of us do at some level – then we’ve forgotten the integrity of God. He has assured us of His unconditional love with a covenant of blood, there’s no need to wonder whether it applies  to us. As His children He has given us great and precious promises pertaining to everything in life and godliness (2 Peter 1:4), there’s no reason to think He’s holding out. Whatever emotional need we have, God has already made provision for it. He Has Already Met It. The only question remaining is whether we actually believed He has.

We forget that His doubts about His promises really amount to a slander against His character. Our souls question whether His words are true for us, even though His integrity has never failed once. He has invested love and blood in each of us. Let’s believe that God’s covenant means exactly what He wants it to mean.

Have a calm and secure weekend. Make it better by worshiping The LORD with those who truly rest in their relationship with Him because they know first-hand that He has proven Himself integrous in all His ways, and they gladly put their trust in Him.

All For Jesus – Nothing More, Nothing Less, Nothing Else.

“He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, The King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see, to Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:15b-16)
