We serve a God of promise. He says what He means and does what He says He will do. Always. Don’t you wish that was true in every “kingdom” or government; we’re all familiar with campaign exaggerations, broken promises, and spin-masters specializing in damage control. We’ve swallowed lies as truths and accepted failures as successes, simply because we believed what we were told. But we never need to fear deception in The Kingdom of Our King. He doesn’t spin His Truth to make it palatable or add fine print to His promises. His Word is His bond.
It’s possible to be mistaken about what He said, of course, but only when we choose to apply His promises more broadly than He meant them. Even so, He means them pretty broadly. Despite the explanation of those who feel the need to clarify His Word for Him, He really does mean what He says. Those who believe Him – who insist against all odds and against all outward evidence that what He says is true – will find Him faithful. History will vindicate every word of God that was resolutely and persistently accepted and believed by every one of us.
“What I have said, that I will bring about; What I have planned, that I will do.” (Isaiah 46:9-11)
So, if we call ourselves Believers, we need to actually believe, huh? Our job is to cultivate faith in what He says. His big picture purposes will be accomplished – there’s no question about that but He prefers to implement His will in cooperation with human beings like you, like me. Yes, our prayers and faith are an indispensable part of His plan. He will do what He says for anyone who actually hears what He says and grabs on to it.
If we haven’t done so already, let’s invest our lives in grabbing hold of the things of God. Let’s listen for His Kingdom agenda more than any other and let our hearts latch onto it. Let’s hear His promises and tell our mind to grip them tightly, whether we understand them fully or not. Let’s determine to be known as people who trust God implicitly, just like a child who knows no deceit. Know The Heart Of Your King, the only Wise God, and depend on Him to do exactly what He has said He will do. Agree?
Have a promising weekend. Make it better by worshiping The LORD with those who know God’s heart and are driven to follow hard after it; for they know that is where the fullness of life is found. Always? No doubt about it.
All For Jesus – Nothing More, Nothing Less, Nothing Else.
“He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, The King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see, to Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:15b-16)
I agree with your post. Our Hope does not rest in our ever changing world but in our Never Ending Savior. Can you pray for Margo’s husband Kenny, last weekend he had AFIB surgery and today at Palomar Hospital thinking he is having a stroke. Last weekend I flew into Vegas on Sunday to meet up with long time friend who lives in Stuart, Florida and flew out Tuesday. She was on a Tour of National Parks Utah and Colorado and tour ended in Vegas. Was good to get out of dodge for a short but sweet visit. How is your new flock and You and Darcy? Bet you loving it!!! Sis – We’re enjoying all The Lord has provided for us here in FL. The church has been so warm and welcoming. Very receptive to God’s Word. We’re still in the unpacking phase since our staff just arrived last Monday. I will pray for Kenny and Margo. Thanks for your thoughts. And, you know you are always welcome to visit. We have a room for you. LU2, -PV
