The world is hungry for glory, isn’t it? That’s why talent contests are popular on TV, why young kids dream of growing up to be elite athletes, and why we have a fascination with the “stars” in our culture. We use “idol” terminology around this phenomenon, and it’s true that much of it self-serving. But there’s also an element of our true identity in it. Deep down, we know we were designed to shine. We were created to be demonstrations of glory.
Every human being was created in the image of God. So how could an image-bearer not be shaped for glory? It’simbedded in our identity. We have God’s attributes, or at least the potential for them, and we were made as vessels for His presence. When we receive Jesus as The Lord of our lives and re-conformed to His image, we are truly in a position to reflect greatness, His greatness. Yes, the Divine seed is planted within us.
“For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” (Romans 8:19)
This is what creation is longing to see. The world doesn’tconsciously have this desire, but millennia of false philosophies and disappointment saviors have sent us practically begging for someone to step into the spotlight with solutions and a connection with the supernatural. That’s what God has in mind for us. Even now, and especially as The Kingdom of God grows into its fullness, the children of God are being revealed. The world will see a kind of human being far different than it assumed possible.
There’s no reason for us to wait. Why not go ahead right now and let’s live in a way that confounds observers? Let’s give people a reason to look at us and notice a difference. Let’s make them think, “Hmmm, that’s not normal” – not in a disparaging way but in admiration that God is doing something unusual in usand through us. Let’s desire to shine with His glory.
What do you think, are you in? “But how can we do that?” you ask. Adopt His attributes. God has given us great and precious promises that allow us to share in the Divine nature, not one day in the future, but right now. Never Downplay That Potential. It isn’t necessary. Glory is a now and future inheritance.
Have a brilliant weekend. Make it better by worshiping The Lord with those who are hungry to see the glory of God and they live and breath to reveal it in their lives at every opportunity they get.

“He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, The King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see, to Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:15b-16)
