It’s Friday…Exactly What We Need

How do you want to experience God? Assuming that you do, your answer may vary depending on your need of the moment. For instance, when you need to be rescued, you want to experience Him as the Rescuer. When you need provision, you want to experience Him as the Provider. And when you need His leadership in a certain direction, in your circumstances, or in your relationships, you want to experience Him as King.

“I will exalt You, my God the King; I will praise Your Name for ever and ever.” (Psalm 145:1)

How do we do that? How do we experience God as our King? Again, assuming that is your desire, one way is to worship the attribute of His we need to experience. When we need provision, for example, the best way to approach Him is not beg for provision but to worship Him as the Provider. So, when we need His leadership in some area of our life, it helps to worship Him as our King. That may sound manipulative, and human nature assures us that manipulation is a genuine temptation. But that’s not how God sees it. He shows up in our lives in whatever ways we magnify Him. We can’t make Him larger, of course, but we make Him larger in our own vision. That’s what the Bible means when it says to “magnify” or glorify His name (Ps.34:3). When we exalt Him as King, He shows His splendor and majesty.

So, let’s exalt The Lord, magnify Him, praise, and worship Him for all He is, has done, and will do. But when we find ourselves with a specific need, let’s build our faith by gazing at His goodness in that specific area of our need. Sure, that can be difficult at times because we tend to focus on our lack rather than His goodness when we’re between a rock and a hard place – but let’s do it anyway. Our attitude will soon change, our faith will swell, and God always responds to faith. He always fills our passionate worship with His presence. And the Presence of The King is Exactly What We Need.

Have a memorable weekend. Make it better by worshiping The Lord with those who live to exalt Him at every opportunity because they have come to learn and know that experiencing Him is always life-giving.

All For Jesus – Nothing More, Nothing Less, Nothing Else.

“He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, The King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see, to Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:15b-16)
