Gabriel answers her simply, God’s own Spirit will accomplish it; her conception will require no physical activity, no human intervention to make it happen. The Almighty only needs to speak in order for something to come to pass. Nothing is impossible with Him. When He says something, it’s inevitable.
“No word from God will ever fail.” (Luke 1:37)
Think about that. It isn’t just true for Mary and a miraculous conception. It’s true for anything God has spoken to those who have given their lives to Him. All those words about our role in His Kingdom and the inheritance we will receive? Inevitable! All those promises about His presence and His power at work in us? Unshakable! Every comforting and encouraging word about how He will defend, guide, protect, heal, strengthen, deliver, and restore us? Certainties! And those assurances that He will answer our prayers and fulfill His purposes for us? Guaranteed! Nothing He has spoken can be proven untrue. Nothing.
Yes, there are conditions to some of those promises, but He has made them clear. They are not difficult. The burden is not on us to live up to our end of the bargain. He takes the fulfillment upon Himself. He offers His faithfulness.
That’s good news, isn’t it? That’s the promise of Christmas. We aren’t always faithful, but He is. It’s His Word on the line, and He will always live up to it. When He makes a promise, He will do everything necessary to bring it to pass it – and It Will Be Accomplished! No matter what we face in life, we can be assured of His faithfulness to His promises. Nothing is impossible with God. Nothing.
Have a promising weekend. Make it better by worshiping The Lord with those who hear from Him through His Word and who live their lives in confidence that He will accomplish all that He has told them; and like Mary, their obedient faith to Him is proof.
All For Jesus – Nothing More, Nothing Less, Nothing Else.
“He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, The King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see, to Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:15b-16)
