It’s Friday…It’s His Golden Opportunity

Strong warriors have been reduced to weak, desperate souls in the battlefield. There comes a time in every human fight when strength is exhausted. That applies to battle weary soldiers as well as to warriors of Christ. Whether the fight is over land or souls, it can be intense. When it is, human weakness shows itself. No one is invincible.

Every person reaches that point, especially those who are fighting the real battle – the warfare that rages between the people of God and the enemy of God. When the issue is of an eternal nature, the stakes are higher than anything a skilled swordsman or a battleship commander has ever fought for. Yes, this life in Christ is a life to the death. And it is exhausting.

Are you weary? Feeling defeated? Overwhelmed by the odds against you? Don’t be. This isn’t about odds, and it isn’t even about your strength. Our weakness is no problem to God; in fact, It’s His Golden Opportunity to show Himself strong, again! If you’re feeling weak, you are in a good place. The stage is set for His might. It really is.

The only power that will ever accomplish anything eternal in this world is God’s. But He insists on operating in a power vacuum. He won’t compete against our own strength. He may use us – our strengths, gifts, and talents – as He wills, but He won’t share His glory with us. He waits for us to exhaust our resources; then He works through us for His own glory to whatever degree we’re surrendered to His will and His power. Yes, His strength is seen in our surrender to Him.

“I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory.” (Psalm 44:6)

Do you have the tendency to trust in your own bow and sword? Maybe the images are a little outdated, but we know what our strengths are, and we trust in them far too often. We forget that our greatest power is infinitely weaker than God’s. Which would we rather depend on in a battle? Trust God’s power. He is always The Victor.

Have a power-filled weekend. Make it better by worshiping The Lord with those who know with certainty that when they are weak, He is strong!

All For Jesus – Nothing More, Nothing Less, Nothing Else.“He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, The King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see, to Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:15b-16)
