It’s Friday…No One Is Invincible

War, whether it be personal or global, is always a test of character. Strong warriors have been reduced to weak, desperate souls on the battlefield. There comes a time in ever human fight when strength is exhausted. Again, that applies to battle-weary soldiers as well as to ambassadors of Jesus Christ. Whether the fight is over land or souls, it can be intense. When it is, human weakness is revealed. No One Is Invincible.

Every person reaches that point, especially those who are fighting the spiritual battle – the warfare that rages between the people of God and the enemy of God. In any issue that is eternal in nature the stakes are higher than anything a skilled warrior or a battleship commander has ever fought for. Yes, our life in Christ is a fight to the death. And it is exhausting.

Are you weary? Feeling defeated? Overwhelmed by the odds against you? Don’t be. This isn’t about odds, and it isn’t even about your strength. Remember, our weakness is no problem to God; in fact, it is His golden opportunity to show Himself strong on your behalf. So, if you’re feeling weak, you are in a good place. It’s in that place that God can do His work with less hinderance than you’ve been putting up. The stage is set for His might.

“I do not trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory.” (Psalm 44:6)

The only power that will ever really accomplish anything of eternal worth in this world is God’s. But He insists on operating in a power vacuum. He won’t compete against our own strength. He may use us – our strength, our gifts, and our talents – as He wills, but He won’t share His glory with us. He waits for us to exhaust our own resources; then He works through us for His own glory to whatever degree we’re surrendered to His will and His power.

So, let’s ask ourselves: Do we have the tendency to first trust in our own resources and strength? If we’re honest, we trust them first far too often. We forget that our greatest power is infinitely weaker than God. Which would we rather depend on in a battle? Let’s trust God’s power. He is always the Victor.

Have a victorious weekend. Make it better by worshiping The LORD with those who know they are strongest when they are submissive to His power and give deference to His will when a battle starts to brew.

All For Jesus – Nothing More, Nothing Less, Nothing Else.

“He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, The King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see, to Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:15b-16)
